Since 1992 KTV has washed hundreds of thousands of square metres of façades with many different surfaces. We carry out assignments for painting and building contractors, housing cooperatives, public institutions, real estate managers and various industrial enterprises. We use the best chemicals on the market, and apply different washing agents depending on the surface to be cleaned. Washing down the façade of a building calls for more than degreasing and rinsing down with a high-pressure hose. Anodised aluminium is just one example of a “delicate” surface that requires special treatment to avoid damage to its special properties. Owners of buildings are not always aware of important details like that, and therefore, when they engage a contractor to clean a façade, they do not specify in detail how the task is to be carried out. We can see the results around us, where many surfaces have been ruined by incorrect cleaning methods. The pressure and temperature of the water used for cleaning are also important factors. In addition, we can whitewash or sand wash on special surfaces, such as mineralite. We have the expertise to know precisely how your particular façade must be washed, no matter whether it is built in wood, stone, stainless plating, anodised aluminium, brick, granite or marble. We have our own waste disposal permit, and use only approved chemicals. When a bricklayer or joiner is to repair a façade, the work is often easier if old paint is removed first. Old paint will normally conceal most of the damage, and on older buildings there may be layers of paint several millimetres thick. In some cases these layers may be so thick that new paint will no longer bind to the surface, and then paint removal is necessary. When all the paint has been removed, there are also more choices available when new paint is to be applied. Some types of paint require a 100% clean surface before they can be applied, and some types react chemically with other types of paint. We can remove graffiti too. The right chemicals must be used in order to do this without damaging the surface underneath. We have experience of removing paint with a high content of PCBs. PCBs are dangerous substances that are not broken down in the environment, so special precautions are necessary when removing paint of this type. KTV uses high pressure equipment up to 300-500 bar for that kind of assignment. On special façades we also apply sand washes or whitewash. For industrial jobs we can also use ultra high pressure up to 2500 bar. Our experience makes the choice of method easy for you – and whatever happens, we concentrate on price and quality.
